ACL Staticide 4600, Staticide Ultra Floor Finish

ACL Staticide 4600 Ultra is a water-based, static-dissipative floor finish for electronics manufacturing, sensitive-device assembly, and ESD workspaces. It combines a high-gloss appearance with abrasion resistance and a manufacturer-stated 12–24 month strip cycle, depending on use and maintenance.

Its surface resistance of 10⁷–10⁹ ohms at 100 V and 12% relative humidity makes it suitable for floor specifications outlined in ANSI/ESD S20.20. Verify the installed floor and personnel-grounding system against your facility’s ESD control requirements; applying a finish alone does not establish facility compliance.

Choose Your Size

SKU Packaging Total Volume
4600-1 Four 1-gallon containers per case 4 gallons
4600-5 One 5-gallon pail 5 gallons

Choose the case of four containers for separately packaged supplies across work areas, or the 5-gallon pail for a larger application. Both sizes contain the same Staticide 4600 Ultra formula.

Coverage planning: ACL specifies approximately 750–1,000 sq. ft. per gallon for a two-coat application. A four-gallon case therefore provides an estimated 3,000–4,000 sq. ft. of two-coat coverage, and a five-gallon pail approximately 3,750–5,000 sq. ft. Actual yield varies with surface condition and application. Follow the application instructions for preparation and coating requirements.

Winter Shipping Notice: ACL ships floor finishes only on Mondays and Tuesdays during winter because of limited freeze-cycle tolerance. Extreme temperatures and weather may cause shipping holds. Plan replenishment accordingly.

Best Uses / Applications

  • Electronics manufacturing and assembly floors.
  • Sensitive-device manufacturing and ESD workspaces.
  • Medical and cleanroom facilities, subject to facility-specific material qualification.
  • Static-sensitive warehousing and data centers.

Application & Maintenance Planning

Confirm that your substrate is suitable, prepare the floor, and apply the finish according to ACL’s application manual. Base quantity estimates on two-coat coverage rather than single-coat spread. Maintain and test the installed floor as part of your facility’s ESD control program. The 12–24 month strip cycle is not a guarantee of maintenance-free performance.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between 4600-1 and 4600-5?

Both contain Staticide 4600 Ultra. SKU 4600-1 is sold as four 1-gallon containers per case; SKU 4600-5 is one 5-gallon pail.

How much area does one gallon cover?

ACL specifies approximately 750–1,000 sq. ft. per gallon for two coats. Use this two-coat figure when estimating purchase quantities, allowing for surface condition and application losses.

Which floors does ACL list as suitable?

ACL lists VCT, linoleum, and ceramic tile. For other substrates, confirm suitability with ACL before application rather than assuming compatibility.

Does applying this finish make my facility ANSI/ESD S20.20 compliant?

No single finish establishes facility compliance. Staticide 4600 Ultra is suitable for floor specifications outlined in ANSI/ESD S20.20, but the installed flooring and personnel-grounding system must be evaluated within your facility’s ESD control program.

How long is the strip cycle?

ACL states 12–24 months. Traffic, floor condition, and maintenance affect service life; follow the application and maintenance instructions and verify ongoing electrical performance.

Can it be used in cleanroom or medical facilities?

ACL includes medical and cleanroom facilities among its ideal applications. Confirm that the finish meets your facility’s specific contamination-control and material-qualification requirements.

Why can winter shipments take longer?

Because of limited freeze-cycle tolerance, ACL ships floor finishes only on Mondays and Tuesdays during winter. Extreme weather can also trigger shipping holds.
