Desco 66464 — Statfree T2 Plus Dissipative Dual Layer Rubber Tray Liner, Blue, 16" × 24" × .060" with .750" Radius Corners

The Desco 66464 Statfree T2 Plus is a dissipative dual layer rubber tray liner designed for use as an ESD-safe worksurface in tote trays, storage containers, and workstation inserts. The two-layer construction combines a dissipative top layer for safe contact with ESD-sensitive devices and a conductive bottom layer for low-resistance grounding — meeting ANSI/ESD S20.20 worksurface requirements and qualifying for use with ESD workstation monitors. Manufactured with a nitrile rubber compound for improved chemical and oil resistance, UV stabilizers for long-term color and electrical performance, and laser-engraved identification on the bottom layer. Made in the USA with a limited lifetime warranty on both layers.

Key Features

  • Dissipative Top Layer: Meets ANSI/ESD S20.20 worksurface required limits and ANSI/ESD S4.1 recommendations for safe contact with ESD-sensitive devices. Does not generate static charge and controls discharge rate from conductors placed on the surface.
  • Conductive Bottom Layer: Low-resistance path to ground reduces Rtg from top surface to groundable point, enabling compatibility with ESD workstation monitors.
  • Nitrile Rubber Oil-Resistant Compound: Improved formulation limits oil absorption, preserving electrical and physical properties through the full service life. Suitable for use in soldering applications with flux and other chemicals.
  • UV Stabilizer Additives: Stabilizes color retention and ESD performance over time; prevents surface layer cracking and deterioration when flexed.
  • Laser Engraved Identification: ESD protective symbol, specifications, and manufacturer information laser-engraved on the bottom layer for identification, control, and auditing.
  • RoHS Compliant. Made in USA.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does the Desco T2 Plus tray liner need to be grounded to work?

Yes. Like all ESD worksurface mats and liners, the T2 Plus must be properly grounded to dissipate ESD charges. The conductive bottom layer provides the low-resistance path to ground. Connect the liner to a common point ground using an appropriate mat grounding cord attached to the groundable snap on the mat or via contact with a grounded conductive surface.

What is the difference between the dissipative top layer and the conductive bottom layer?

The dissipative top layer (1×10⁶ to <1×10⁹ Ω Rtt) controls the rate of charge dissipation from ESD-sensitive devices placed on the surface — fast enough to remove charges safely, slow enough to prevent damage from rapid discharge. The conductive bottom layer (<1×10⁶ Ω Rtt) provides a low-resistance electrical path from the top surface to the grounding point, and enables the mat to interface with ESD workstation continuous monitors.

Is the T2 Plus tray liner suitable for use with flux and soldering chemicals?

Yes. The nitrile rubber oil-resistant compound used in T2 Plus is specifically formulated to resist oil absorption and withstand exposure to flux and common soldering chemicals, making it suitable for use at solder workstations within an EPA.

What does ANSI/ESD S20.20 compliance mean for this mat?

ANSI/ESD S20.20 is the industry standard for ESD control programs in electronics manufacturing environments. A worksurface that meets S20.20 requirements has a resistance-to-groundable-point (Rtg) of less than 1×10⁹ Ω when properly grounded. The T2 Plus dissipative top layer and conductive bottom layer together meet this requirement, making the liner suitable for use in S20.20-compliant EPAs.
