Permabond AA000500250T0101 - LH050 Anaerobic Pipe Threadlocker 250ml with PTFE (Case of 10)
Permabond AA000500250T0101 - LH050 Anaerobic Pipe Threadlocker 250ml with PTFE (Case of 10)
General-purpose anaerobic pipe sealant with PTFE for instant pressure sealing and easy disassembly. Permabond® LH050 is a low-strength pipe threadlocker that provides instant air pressure seal up to 1,000 psi with limited hand tightening. After full cure, sealing capability typically reaches the burst rating of the pipe itself. The low locking strength allows easy disassembly with standard hand tools, making it ideal for maintenance applications and systems requiring periodic service.

IDEAL APPLICATIONS
• Hydraulic and pneumatic systems
• Plumbing and pipe fitting installations
• Industrial piping systems
• HVAC installations
• Compressed air systems
• Water and gas lines
• Maintenance and repair applications
• Systems requiring periodic disassembly
• Metal pipe threads (steel, brass, iron)
• Plugs, fittings, and threaded connections
HOW IT WORKS
LH050 cures anaerobically when confined in the absence of air between close-fitting metal surfaces (as in a threaded pipe joint). When applied, it dispenses as a smooth paste that fills the entire space between threaded parts. It then cures at ambient temperature to form a solid plastic seal that completely prevents leakage of hydraulic fluids, air, gases, and chemicals. Additionally, it locks the pipes, plugs, or fittings against vibration loosening, tampering, and variable temperature effects.
INSTANT SEAL ADVANTAGE
Unlike traditional pipe dopes and tapes that require time to seat, LH050 provides an instant air pressure seal up to 1,000 psi with limited hand tightening. This allows immediate pressure testing and faster system commissioning. After full cure (typically 24 hours), the seal capability increases to the burst rating of the pipe itself.
LOW STRENGTH FOR EASY DISASSEMBLY
The low locking strength formula allows easy disassembly with standard hand tools - no heat or special equipment required. This makes LH050 ideal for:
• Maintenance applications requiring periodic service
• Systems that may need future modifications
• Temporary installations
• Applications where high-strength locking is not desired
PTFE ENHANCEMENT
The addition of PTFE (polytetrafluoroethylene) provides:
• Improved sealing performance
• Enhanced lubricity for easier assembly
• Better resistance to chemicals and solvents
• Reduced friction during tightening
SUPERIOR TO PIPE TAPE & DOPE
LH050 provides significant advantages over traditional pipe tapes and dopes:
vs. Pipe Tape:
• No shredding or contamination of system
• Complete thread fill (no gaps or voids)
• Won't unwind during assembly
• Instant seal without settling time
vs. Pipe Dope:
• Cleaner application, no mess
• Locks threads against vibration
• Won't dry out or crack over time
• Consistent seal quality
COMPATIBLE METALS
LH050 performs well on most metals, particularly:
• Steel and stainless steel
• Brass and bronze
• Iron and cast iron
• Galvanized pipe
• Copper (with activator for faster cure)
APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS
1. Clean Threads: Ensure threads are clean, dry, and free of oil or grease
2. Apply Sealant: Apply LH050 to male threads, covering 2-3 threads from end
3. Assemble: Hand tighten, then wrench tighten to proper torque
4. Pressure Test: Can pressure test immediately up to 1,000 psi
5. Full Cure: Allow 24 hours for full cure and maximum seal strength
Note: For passive metals (stainless steel, zinc, cadmium), use Permabond activator for faster cure.
CURE TIME & CONDITIONS
• Fixture Time: 10-30 minutes (depending on gap and metal type)
• Full Cure: 24 hours at room temperature
• Cure Temperature Range: 59-77°F (15-25°C) optimal
• Service Temperature: -65°F to 300°F (-54°C to 150°C)
CHEMICAL RESISTANCE
Once cured, LH050 resists:
• Hydraulic fluids and oils
• Gasoline and diesel fuels
• Natural gas and propane
• Water and glycol solutions
• Compressed air
• Most industrial chemicals
