JBC CD-2BQF 230V General Purpose Soldering Station

The JBC CD-2BQF is the 230V version of the compact CDB soldering station for general electronics assembly, prototyping and repair. It includes a T245-A General Purpose Handle compatible with C245 cartridges, a tip cleaning system and a cartridge exchanger. Soldering cartridges are not included and must be selected separately for your application.

The station provides adjustable 90–450°C temperature control and 130W peak tool power. JBC lists nominal station power separately at 175W. Sleep and Hibernation modes reduce idle tip temperature to help extend cartridge life.

Best Uses / Applications

  • General-purpose PCB assembly and through-hole soldering.
  • Electronics repair and component replacement using suitable C245 cartridges.
  • R&D, prototyping and engineering laboratory benches with a suitable 230V supply.
  • Production work requiring PC connectivity and process-data capabilities.
  • ESD-controlled workstations with appropriate grounding and facility procedures.

These are separate voltage configurations, not a universal-voltage claim. Verify the equipment label and installation supply before connection. For very fine work, compare handle size and cartridge geometry as well as power.

Setup and Tip Care

  • Select a compatible C245 cartridge with a working surface suited to the joint.
  • Use the lowest practical temperature that completes the joint reliably.
  • Keep the working surface clean and tinned, and use the station's cleaning system according to JBC instructions.
  • Return the handle to its holder between joints so supported heat-management functions can reduce idle exposure.
  • Avoid excessive force and abrasive damage to cartridge plating.
  • Follow the manufacturer instructions for cartridge changes, grounding, shutdown and compatible fume extraction.

Frequently Asked Questions

What voltage does the CD-2BQF require?

The CD-2BQF is the 230V CDB configuration. It is different from the 120V CD-1BQF. Match the unit to your installation supply.

Is a soldering cartridge included?

No. JBC lists the T245-A handle with the station, but explicitly excludes the cartridge. Select a suitable C245 cartridge separately.

What is the difference between 175W and 130W?

JBC lists 175W as nominal station power and 130W as peak tool power. They describe different ratings and should not be treated as interchangeable.

What temperature range can I select?

The selectable range is 90–450°C / 190–840°F. Choose settings appropriate to the solder alloy, component and joint.

Which handle and cartridges does it use?

The package includes the T245-A General Purpose Handle, compatible with the C245 cartridge range.

Does it support fume extraction?

The station includes an FAE / Robot connector for remote control or connection to compatible JBC FAE extraction equipment. An extractor is not included in the listed package.

What does USB-B provide?

JBC lists USB-B PC communications and describes data download, software updates and traceability capabilities for this platform. Use supported JBC software and instructions.

How do Sleep and Hibernation modes help?

They reduce idle tip thermal exposure. JBC describes tip-life extension of up to five times with its heat-management system; actual life depends on use, settings and care.
