Excelta 260K-ESD ESD-Safe Mini Spatula Kit — 5-Piece SS/Aluminum Handle

The Excelta 260K-ESD is a 5-piece kit of ESD-safe mini spatulas (oilers) for precision placement of epoxies, adhesives, lubricants, and other materials in electronics manufacturing and assembly environments. The kit includes five individual spatula styles — 260A-ESD through 260E-ESD — each with a different tip geometry to cover a range of application techniques. Tips are made from AISI 1075 carbon steel and measure 2.5" in length, mounted on ESD-safe aluminum handles. ESD-safe construction makes this kit appropriate for use in EPA (ESD Protected Area) environments where standard metal tools may pose a static discharge risk to sensitive components.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is included in the 260K-ESD kit?
The 260K-ESD kit includes five ESD-safe mini spatulas: 260A-ESD, 260B-ESD, 260C-ESD, 260D-ESD, and 260E-ESD. Each has a different tip geometry for varied application techniques. All five share the same AISI 1075 carbon steel tips and ESD-safe aluminum handles.

Are Excelta 260-ESD spatulas safe to use in an ESD protected area?
Yes — the 260K-ESD features ESD-safe aluminum handles designed for use in EPA environments. They are appropriate for use near ESD-sensitive components and assemblies. For maximum ESD protection, ensure the operator is also grounded via a wrist strap and ESD-compliant workstation.

What materials are the 260K-ESD spatulas used to apply?
The 260K-ESD mini spatulas are ideal for placing epoxy adhesives, die attach materials, thermal compounds, lubricants, fluxes, and other viscous materials in small, controlled quantities. The fine carbon steel tips allow precise placement in tight spaces.

What is the difference between the 260K-ESD and the 260K?
The 260K-ESD has ESD-safe aluminum handles for use in ESD-protected areas. The 260K has plastic handles and is not ESD-safe. If you work in an EPA or handle ESD-sensitive devices, use the 260K-ESD. Contact MTE Solutions at 651.600.3838 for assistance selecting the right kit.

Can the spatula tips be cleaned and reused?
Yes — the AISI 1075 carbon steel tips can be cleaned with appropriate solvents (IPA, acetone depending on the material applied) and reused. Avoid abrasive cleaning methods that may damage the tip geometry. Inspect tips regularly for wear or contamination before use.
