The Desco 82067 Statfree G2 is a conductive homogeneous nitrile rubber floor mat kit for ESD-protected standing workstations requiring full floor coverage. The single-layer conductive construction maintains low resistance from surface to ground even with normal dirt and grime buildup. Kit includes the Desco 14234 ground cord. The only difference is size: the 82067 is 48" × 72" (4' × 6') for full workstation floor coverage; the 82068 is 48" × 40" (4' × 3.3') for a shorter workstation footprint or secondary floor zone.
Does the ESD floor mat work without ESD footwear?
No. The G2 conductive floor mat is one element of a flooring/footwear system. The path to ground is only complete when the operator is wearing ESD footwear (heel grounders, ESD shoes, or foot grounders) that makes electrical contact with the mat surface. Standard insulating footwear will not complete the ground path regardless of mat grounding.
Can the G2 floor mat be used over existing ESD floor tiles?
Yes. The G2 mat is designed for use over ESD floor tiles and ESD floor finishes in high-traffic areas to protect the underlying ESD flooring from wear and reduce maintenance frequency. The mat must still be independently grounded via the included 14234 ground cord.
