Desco 45050 Molded Hook Tape, 1" X 25Yds
Desco 45050 Molded Hook Tape – 1 in x 25 yds
The Desco 45050 is a dual-function molded hook tape designed to secure ESD floor mats and workstation mats in place. One side features flexible hook material that grips carpet fibers; the other side has a strong pressure-sensitive adhesive that bonds to the underside of the mat. The result is a mat that stays flat, doesn’t curl at the edges, and won’t slip — eliminating trip hazards and maintaining consistent ESD grounding contact. Made in America.
Sold individually (1 roll, 1 in x 25 yds).

Frequently Asked Questions
How do I install the Desco 45050 hook tape on my ESD mat?
Apply strips of the 45050 around the perimeter of the mat underside using the adhesive side, pressing firmly to bond to the mat surface. The hook side faces down toward the carpet. Once placed, the hooks grip the carpet pile to hold the mat flat and prevent movement. For best adhesion, ensure the mat surface is clean and dry before applying. Note: the tape is not designed to be removed and reused.
Does this tape work on hard floors as well as carpet?
The hook side of the 45050 is designed to grip carpet fibers — it will not grip hard floor surfaces such as vinyl, tile, or concrete. For securing ESD mats on hard floors, a double-sided adhesive tape or mat anchor system designed for hard surfaces is required. Contact MTE Solutions for hard floor mat securing options.
Will securing the mat with hook tape affect ESD grounding?
No. The hook tape secures the mat mechanically at the perimeter and does not interfere with the mat’s ESD grounding path. The mat’s ground cord connection point remains unaffected. Proper grounding still requires a connected ground cord from the mat to a verified ground point per your ESD control program.
How much tape do I need for a standard ESD floor mat?
For a typical 2 x 3 ft workstation mat, applying tape along all four edges requires approximately 10 linear feet. The 25-yard (75 ft) roll provides enough tape for approximately 7–8 standard workstation mats, making it economical for facilities outfitting multiple ESD workstations.
