Desco 45010 — Statfree J ESD Foam Rubber Tray Liner, Black, 16" × 24" × .125" with .750" Radius Corners

The Desco 45010 Statfree J is a dissipative cellular foam nitrile rubber tray liner for standard 16" × 24" cafeteria-style parts trays in ESD-protected areas. The .750" radius corners fit rounded-corner trays without trimming. The non-skid foam rubber surface cushions PCBs and assemblies and prevents them from sliding during tray handling and transport. Double-sided tape on the reverse side keeps the liner flat and prevents curling in the tray. The volume resistance specification (10⁶–10⁷ Ω per ANSI/ESD STM11.12) allows the liner to electrically couple to a grounded ESD mat without a separate ground cord when placed directly on a grounded worksurface. Limited Lifetime Warranty. Lead-free RoHS compliant. Made in the USA.

Key Features

  • Fits Standard 16" × 24" Cafeteria Trays: Pre-cut with .750" radius corners to fit the most common parts tray format in electronics assembly environments without trimming.
  • No Separate Ground Cord Required: Volume resistance (10⁶–10⁷ Ω per ANSI/ESD STM11.12) allows the liner to electrically couple through to a grounded ESD mat placed beneath the tray, eliminating the need to run a separate ground cord to each tray liner. Verify coupling with a surface resistance meter.
  • Double-Sided Tape Backing: Adhesive on the reverse side holds the liner flat in the tray and prevents curling at the edges during use and handling.
  • Non-Skid Foam Rubber Surface: Cellular foam nitrile rubber cushions PCBs and assemblies against shock and prevents them from sliding during tray handling, transport, and workstation transfers.
  • Dissipative ESD Protection (10⁶–10⁸ Ω Rtt): Meets ANSI/ESD S20.20 worksurface required limits. Controls static charge removal from ESD-sensitive items placed in the tray.
  • Limited Lifetime Warranty: Electrical performance guaranteed for the life of the liner.
  • RoHS Compliant (Lead-Free). Made in USA.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does the Desco 45010 tray liner need its own ground cord?

Not when placed on a properly grounded ESD worksurface. The 45010’s volume resistance (10⁶–10⁷ Ω per ANSI/ESD STM11.12) allows it to electrically couple through to the grounded mat beneath the tray, completing the ground path without a separate cord. If the tray is used on a non-grounded surface, a separate ground connection will be required. Always verify grounding with a surface resistance meter after installation.

What is the difference between the Desco 45010 and the Desco 42558 tray liners?

Both are 16" × 24" ESD tray liners with .750" radius corners for standard cafeteria trays. Key differences: the 45010 is Statfree J foam nitrile rubber — non-skid, shock-absorbing, with double-sided tape backing and no separate ground cord required when placed on a grounded mat. The 42558 is Statfree Z2 3-layer vinyl — firmer surface, laser engraved for audit identification, and green in color. Choose the 45010 for cushioning and non-skid grip; choose the 42558 for a firmer surface with laser-engraved audit markings.

Why does the 45010 have double-sided tape on the back?

The double-sided tape holds the liner flat against the tray bottom and prevents edges from curling up during use. This maintains consistent contact with the tray surface and ensures the liner stays in position during handling and cart transport.
