Berkshire SPXCHN5R00112, Choice SatPax® 500, Presaturated Nonwoven IPA Wiper, 70% IPA / 30% DI Water, 60% Saturation, 9" x 9", Case of 900

The Berkshire Choice SatPax® 500 -R is a presaturated cleanroom wiper that combines the Choice 500 nonwoven substrate — a thermally bonded blend of 60% cellulose and 40% polyester with no chemical binders — with a 70% IPA / 30% DI water solution at a 60% saturation level. Compared to the SPXCHN500112, the -R variant delivers a drier wipe with less fluid per pass, making it appropriate when the process requires 70% IPA disinfection efficacy but a lower fluid load — for example, on surfaces where excess IPA pooling is undesirable, where faster dry time is required, or where cost per wipe is a priority. The Choice 500 substrate’s thermally bonded, binder-free construction ensures broad chemical compatibility with IPA and most common cleanroom cleaning agents.

MTE Solutions stocks the SPXCHN5R00112 in cases of 900 sheets (75 wipes per pack, 12 packs per case). Each wipe is individually sealed to maintain saturation level. For the higher-saturation version of the same wiper, see the SPXCHN500112. For the Choice 600 substrate (lower lint) at 70% IPA, see the SPXCHN6R00112.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between SPXCHN5R00112 and SPXCHN500112?
Both use the Choice 500 nonwoven substrate with 70% IPA / 30% DI water. The SPXCHN5R00112 has a 60% saturation level — a drier wipe that delivers less fluid per pass and is lower cost per case. The SPXCHN500112 has a higher saturation level. Choose the -R when a drier wipe, faster dry time, or lower cost is the priority; choose the standard when higher fluid delivery per wipe is needed.

Does lower saturation affect disinfection efficacy?
The IPA concentration (70%) remains the same regardless of saturation level — both variants deliver 70% IPA to the surface. Lower saturation means less total fluid volume per wipe, which may affect coverage on very large or porous surfaces. For standard hard, non-porous cleanroom surfaces, 60% saturation is sufficient for effective decontamination.

What ISO cleanroom class is this rated for?
Rated for ISO Class 5 through ISO Class 8 environments (equivalent to Federal Standard 209E Class 100 through Class 100,000).

How many wipes come in a case?
Each case contains 900 wipes — 75 wipes per pack, 12 packs per case. Each wipe is individually sealed to maintain saturation level.
