Cost-Effective OEM & Medical Cleanroom Staples You Can Trust (and Afford)

OEM and medical cleanroom supplies

In OEM electronics and medical device manufacturing, the consumables you choose for packaging, material handling, and contamination control directly affect compliance, yield, and cost of quality. Moisture barrier bags protect moisture-sensitive devices from humidity damage during storage and transit; ESD-safe material handling containers protect components from electrostatic discharge between workstations; and sterile cleanroom disinfectants maintain ISO classification and support FDA, USP, and ISO audit readiness. MTE Solutions carries all three categories from trusted brands — Desco, SCS, Protektive Pak, and High-Tech Conversions — at competitive pricing from our Woodbury, MN facility. MTE Solutions is ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 13485:2016 certified.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between a 3.5 mil and a 6 mil moisture barrier bag?
Mil thickness refers to the physical thickness of the bag material. A 6 mil bag (like the SCS Dri-Shield 3000) is thicker and more puncture-resistant than a 3.5 mil bag, making it better suited for heavier assemblies, sharp-edged components, or applications where the bag may be handled repeatedly. Both thicknesses can meet ANSI/ESD S541 and J-STD-033 moisture barrier requirements — the key specification is the water vapor transmission rate (WVTR), not thickness alone. Verify the WVTR specification against your MSD level and storage duration requirements when selecting bag thickness.

What makes Virtu-Clean sterile IPA suitable for ISO Class 5 environments?
Virtu-Clean is gamma irradiated (which destroys microbial contamination without chemical residue) and filtered to 0.1 µm to remove particulates before filling. It is double-bagged for transfer into cleanrooms through gowning areas without introducing contamination from the outer packaging. USP <797> and <800> compliance means it meets the sterility and documentation requirements for pharmaceutical compounding cleanrooms. Standard IPA — even high-purity grades — is not sterile and is not appropriate for ISO Class 5 or USP-regulated environments without additional processing.

Are Protektive Pak containers reusable and how do I verify their ESD performance over time?
Yes — Protektive Pak conductive and dissipative containers are designed for repeated use in production environments. Verify surface resistance with a surface resistance meter periodically — conductive corrugated materials can lose conductivity if the surface is abraded, contaminated with insulative materials, or exposed to certain cleaning chemicals. Inspect containers for physical damage (cracks, delamination) that could compromise structural integrity. Replace containers that no longer meet ANSI/ESD S541 surface resistance specifications or that show physical damage that could damage components.

Does MTE Solutions offer volume pricing for OEM and medical device manufacturers?
Yes — MTE Solutions works directly with OEM and medical device manufacturers on volume pricing for high-use consumables including moisture barrier bags, ESD containers, and cleanroom chemicals. As an ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 13485:2016 certified distributor based in Woodbury, MN, we provide the documentation and traceability support required for regulated manufacturing environments.
