Anti-static (pink poly) bags only prevent triboelectric charge buildup on the bag surface — they provide no ESD shielding and no moisture barrier. Moisture Barrier Bags include a metallic shielding layer that acts as a Faraday cage, blocking both external static fields and moisture vapor. For any MSL-rated component, an MBB is required, not an anti-static bag.

Do I need to use desiccants inside the bag?
Yes, for MSL 2–6 components. JEDEC J-STD-033 requires desiccant packs and a humidity indicator card (HIC) inside the sealed MBB.
